Sweden Reverses Refugee Policy: We Need Respite

Sweden has announced it will modify its very generous refugee policy, reversing its open-door policy for those fleeing persecution and war. The policy will revert to the EU minimum, said Swedish prime minister Stefan Lofven. Most refugees would receive only temporary residence permits and identity checks would be imposed on all modes of transport, and the right to bring families to Sweden would be severely restricted, he said.
